About Monica
I am in my final year of the Bachelor of Arts program at Toronto Metropolitan University, majoring in Psychology. I have a strong academic foundation recognized through my 4.31 GPA and honors such as the Dean's List and the Psychology Department Scholars Circle.
My primary research interests include anxiety and mood disorders, with a focus on adolescence and adulthood, as well as broader areas of clinical psychopathology. Under the supervision of Dr. Moulson in the Brain and Early Experiences Lab I am conducting my undergraduate honours thesis. My research explores the impact of social anxiety on individuals' sensitivity and bias when interpreting threatening, negative facial expressions. This research has deepened my understanding of emotional processing within the context of anxiety disorders.
As I prepare for the next stage of my academic journey, I am eager to contribute to the field of clinical psychology through graduate studies, where I aim to further my research and clinical training.
